    How can i convert about 5 avi files into 5 mpegs or even 1 mpeg( icould split it later) in one session.
    This will stop having to convert each avi separatley as it takes ages?¿

    If you are using TmpGenc for the conversion, set up and save a project for each one thne use the batch encode option. This will give you 5 mpeg which can later be joined.

    Another way is to 1st join the avi files into 1 big one with vdub, then encode
