I don't like to ask for help, but it looks like I'm going to need it once more.
I've got a purchased BluRay disc from a live concert, and it says quite specifically, "1080 High Definition, 59.94i" on the back of the box. Now, looking at the .m2ts files that are on it, MediaInfo tells me they're 23.976 Progressive. Opening the disc via TMPGEnc and looking at the info there, it says the exact same thing. Am I missing something here? I don't expect that both programs are going crazy, but I kind of doubt that the box is lying either; most people don't care about framerate, so I doubt it boosted their sales by much, lol. Anybody got any ideas? It'd be much appreciated.

Snip out a sample and post it. It may be 23.976 progressive flagged with 3:2 pulldown to 59.94i. With a music concert it's not out of the question that several different camera formats were used.
Are the special features content different from the main show? -
Is the biggest m2ts or all m2ts in 23.976fps?
I wouldn't trust what it says on the box. Maybe copied from other covers. -
59.94i is NOT valid for BluRay. It violates the specs. 29.97i is the highest frame rate allowed for 1080 video.
Without seeing the box and being able to look at the disc, I'd just speculate that what the box says is wrong. And I'm not even getting into the "but they're talking about fields and calling it frames incorrectly" nonsense that sometimes goes on. -
59.94i is the same thing as 29.97i. It's just marketing's attempt to make it sound better.

Oh wow, quite a reception
First of all, thanks for all of your replies!
Attached a 20 second sample, cut out with TMPGEnc Smart Renderer, I hope that works. Special features are close to non-existent, there's an encore, but it's all part of one huge .m2ts file, not separate from the rest. The only smaller .m2ts files are menus, it seems.
All of them are in 23.976fps, even the menus.
That's a valid point actually. Maybe the sample clears some things up?
Yeah, I know it's technically wrong to put that on there as it stands, but I assume it's like jagabo said, higher numbers look pretty. Should've specified in the OP that I was hoping for/expecting 29.97i of course. -

Well, that's more of a concern than a relief lol, I had hoped for 29.97i since it said so on the box. I've noticed this problem on more than one of my BluRays of this type of concert and I assumed that there must be something I'm missing. Same as this "MBAFF" interlacing, messes with my head. Anyway, thanks for your reply, I intend to use this file on my computer though :/

If the framerate is true 23.976 progressive then your blu-ray player will have no issues with it.

They all support 23.976(24fps)at 1920x1080 authored to blu-ray specs,most will play 1280x720 23.976 blu-ray authored.

Yeah, I know that it's no problem getting it to play, but that hasn't been my worry. It said 29.97i on the box (more or less) and I'd hoped to get exactly that. Thank you nonetheless!
