  1. Iv'e converted a *.avi file to mpg. My avi file is 700mb, and my converted mpg file is 500 mb. It sholdn't be that way? :roll:
    The conversation took 2 hours, and the quality wasn't that good either.
    I set my resoulution to 480*480 and i use mpeg 2.
    Last time I converted a movie, the mpg file was much bigger than the avi file, and i had to use 2 cd's.

    Can anyone help my me?

    how did you encode(tmpg,cce...)
    what bitrate did you use(CBR or VBR)?
    if VBR, did you use the bitrate calculator?
    --this should give you the bitrate you need to use to fill a CD to capacity, which should maximize quality.
