Hello! I am new in this AVI capturing. I need some help from you guys. I have Pinnacle Studio PCTV Pro in my Athlon 1600, 512 DDR, 30 Gig Hard drive system w/ NIVIDIA Geforce 2 MX400 video card. I tried to use iuVCR software to capture AVI from my VCR. The video source goes to the PCTV Pro and the audio goes directly to my SB Live, Value sound card. The picture quality is pretty good, close to VHS quality; however, the audio is out of sync...about 5 secs behind. Is it because the lack of memory? Is there anyway I can fix it? BTW, I used VirtueDub and got the same problem. Thank you for your help!

the problem is simple....its your soundcard. your system is powerful enough to capture with no sync problems. if you have a motherboard with a via chipset try getting the pci latency patch....i couldnt tell you where to find it but i have heard of it resolving many peoples problems. or if you've got some money get a turtle beach santa cruz...i use this card and it is much better then and SB. also use AVI_IO, it is much better then virtualdub....also, try using different codecs when capturing to see if that helps.
