  1. I need help burning these vcd files. I followed the all-in-one guide on this webpage to convert the Lord Of The Rings screener divx files into vcd format. I used the source range settings in TMPGenc to split each of the files in half because they were something like 899mb. But after TMPGenc finished encoding them the new files that should have been half as big were each over 800mb. Is there something I'm doing wrong or do I need to split each of the parts of the divx movie into thirds to fit them onto 700mb cds????

you shouldnt have to split them in three
if you're using the mpeg tools in tmpgenc you should select one of the correct types (i.e. video standard etc...)
and dont forget when you load it up first hit the play then quickly hit the pause button then split the the files like you want them
the reason why you hit play and pause first is b/c tmpgenc has some bugs in the mpeg spliting tools

If you are setting the source range in TMPGEnc and then transcoding the selected range you should achieve the results you want. I use this method all the time in ver2.53. You might simply be forgetting to set the proper start and stop points. After you think you have done it properly click the button "move to start point" and then click the button "move to stop point". See if the start/stop points are what you wanted when you SET the points. If they are, proceed to transcode. then set the new start/stop points and transcode the second part.
