  1. First time I posted in this forum, and I've looked 3 hours straight for a answer, couldn't find one.Anyways, details: The video file is MP4 with H264. and I recorded it using my HD PVR 2 (Happuage or however it's spelt) and when I watch the video on my media player, OR in the preview in VideoReDo, there is NO desynced audio. But when I play it after rendering (the rendered file) it is audio decynced. I think the problem may be this: When it finished rendering it said 80,000 video frames were rendered and 67k audio frames were rendered. I guess this is the problem? So how do I get them to be on the same frame rate? Thanks!

Rendering ? Do you mean transcodeing of some kind ?
The VRD website has a wonderful forum dedicated to the product and product-Pros who respond quickly. Try there.

I know why this is happening, but since you have no patience, now you'll have wait for someone else to tell you.

  7. @usually quitePatience? Hardly. I just thought this thread was active so my post would sink to the bottom. Thanks anyways, but if you did know, wouldn't you say instead of showing off? Lol.

Because of this Rule..found at the top of the page:

"Please try not to "bump" your topic.
Replying to your own topic to get it to the top is annoying. Try to have some patience, this is a bulletin board, not IRC. It may take some time (e.g., one or two days) before someone can answer your query or question."

  9. Ah, that is good to know. The sites I post on allow bumps so yea. Not gonna read every single rule for this site just for a one time question lol. Thanks though.

Now that you have waited so patiently...

All Hauppauge's HD capture products create non-standard .mp4 files, and Hauppauge has never felt the need to correct the problem.

The version of Arcsoft ShowBiz Hauppauge includes with some of its HD capture products is supposed to be able to work with these problem .mp4 files, but I'm not sure if the standard version of Showbiz can do the same. Other third-party editors are definitely unable to import Hauppauge's type of .mp4 and correctly export to a standard version of the .mp4 container.

Those who want to use a third-party editor are forced to use .ts files for recording. If the editor allows it, edited files can be exported as .mp4. Otherwise the audio and video can be exported to a different container and repackaged to .mp4 with something like My MP4Box GUI, which changes the container without re-encoding its contents.

  11. Honestly, I did not understand anything but barely.Point is, I should just record in a different format? Because the options are MP4, .ts, and another one I forgot.
And the second point: VideoRedo can't match the audio and video frames together? Even though the preview has the audio and video in perfect sync? So, what do you recommend I do? Since VideoRedo works perfect for me since I just cut out my stupid moments in gaming and it 'renders' it much faster than camtasia or Sony Vegas. No need for a water mark.

The .mp4 files produced by Hauppauges HD-PVR 2 and related products are problematic, but VideoReDo TV Suite H.264 is known to work well with the other output options allowed by the HD-PVR 2.

  13. Soooo in other words the solution would be... nothing? I appreciate it, but if you know any way to get the audio in sync that'd be nice. If you don't know lemme know. Because I have a lot of videos to render/edit but I just prefer VideoReDo. If it can't sync the audio then I'll just use SV.

  14. Use ts output for the Happuage.
Then see if videoredo keeps it in sync.

  15. Thanks for the answer Steve, I'll definitely try that. I would like to see Quite's answer though.

I told you I knew why VideoReDo wasn't working the way you wanted it to. I never said I knew how to make VideoReDo work as desired using the HD-PVR 2's .mp4 files as input.

Even if they play correctly, the .mp4 files produced the various HD-PVR 2 capture devices are screwed up. That is why VideoReDo can't produce in sync audio and video output when used with .mp4 files produced by the HD-PVR 2. The version of SV Hauppauge provides was customized to work with the odd .mp4 files produced by Hauppauge HD capture devices. So yes if you choose to record in .mp4 format, you'll likely be stuck using their version of SV to edit your recordings, assuming you have it.

I did tell you to set up the HD-PVR to output .ts files, just like Steve(MS) did if you want to use VideoReDo to edit. .ts files from the HD-PVR 2 will have the best compatiblilty with VideoReDo. If you want to use VideoReDo, but need .mp4 files for some reason, you will have to repackage the edited .ts files to .mp4.

  17. So in a nutshell, just record in a different format. That's all that was needed to be said. Thanks though, Quite and Steve. No need for the explanation why it isn't working though. But thanks anyways, I appreciate it!
