I own VideoRedo - and I love it.
I use it to detect commercials in my high def .wtv files (from Windows Media Center) and it works great.

However I have TONS of files, and have to open each one individually within VideoRedo and add it to a batch conversion -
Is there a way to multi select a lot of files at once - or better yet have it monitor a folder (though either is fine)
and then run the detection/strip commercials?

You can manually add a large group of media files to the Batch Manager's list for commercial removal by opening a folder, selecting "Media Files" for "Files of Type", clicking on the first file that you want to process and then shift-clicking on the last file in the folder that you process. Use "VPrj (Ad-Detective Scan)" as the Destination Type to perform commercial detection.

...but there is no watch folder option as with Comskip.

    Thanks - I don't see that option
    I have version H.264 v 4.21.1.655

I can "open file" and select multiple files, and then select "joiner" - however I don't see how to tell it to scan/remove all commercials from each file.

I have VideoReDo Plus 3.10.3.609, so it is possible the options for VideoReDo TV Suite H.264 are different.

However, I see when "Start Batch Manager" is selected from the Tools menu, the window that appears is titled "Batch Builder". ...or do you mean you don't see the option to create "Vprj (Ad Detective Scan)" as the "Destination Type"? Below is a picture of the dialog window.

According to VRD's Help file, using "Vprj (Ad Detective Scan)" as the "Destination Type" is supposed to perform ad detective scanning for all the media files in the Source List and creates a Vprj project file containing the cut list to remove ads for each of the media files scanned. Running those Vprj project files within "Batch Builder" with one of the media file types as the "Destination Type" should perform the actual editing.

I ran across a post that discussed automating videoredo with a free utility called VideoReDo-Autoprocessor Program, which may be of use to you. A link to the VRD forum thread for the utility is below:

I have VideoRedo. I am trying to use the Ad-Detective to remove commercials. The scene marks are sometimes incorrect. How do i correct them? I know you use the "A" key to add and remove the scene marks. Are the scene marks used so a commercial is right after them? Do i just type an "A" whenever i want to start a commercial? how do i add one at the end of a commercial? please gimme a clue. thanks!
