  1. I have only recentlty gotten into the world of DVDs and VCDs. I bought one of the cheap Mintek 2580s for $90 @ Best Buy a few months ago. While playback of store-bought DVDs, Music CDs, and MP3 data disks is relatively flawless, playback of VCDs is not....It's the old audio sync problem I'm afraid. Every other VCD I encode (if not more) loses audio/video sync after playing for a few minutes in the Mintek player. So, I've determined it's the Mintek DVD deck and not the AVI, TMPGEnc, my computer, or anything else as those same VCDs playback perfectly on the computer.

So, what in your opinion(s) are the best XVCD/MP3 capable standalone DVD players out there on the market for under $200?

  2. Apex AD-1500, i got it around $70-$80, and it plays everything I burn and put in it, VCD, XVCD etc. Also supports any mpeg clips and MP3. Best Player in my opinion, was a great upgrade from my old GE Model
