    Hello fellow Mac-owners!

I have just purchased a Belkin Videobus II. I'm using the software that came with it, the Strata VideoShop as well as Toast 5. I'm trying to create a VideoCD.

My problem is that when I go to record, I end up with soundless movie files. The only ways I've found around this are to change the Audio properties from within VS in Digitize/Sound Settings, or thru Sound Control Panel to 'NT1004' which I assume is the Videobus input.. This DOES work, but I'm only able to sample at 16KHz and on 8-bit!! .. but Toast requires a 44KHz 16-bit sound sample. Is there something I am missing??

I've checked all the manuals and not found any help.. and tried every option I can think of.

I'm able to set the size etc and to record the movie, convert it etc, but because of the 16khz sampling rate the audio sounds fast and squeeky! Everything else seems fine, though.

Can anyone help me create a movie file suitable for Toast to convert to VCD MPEG format, without relying on VirtualPC (I'd too prideful to rely on another platform to make VCDs!) or buying new h/w or s/w?

    Thanks for your help!!

    Regards
    Steve

  2. Use the mic/audio in on you mac instead, reset the sound control panel to match.

Hi Ross, thanks for the reply..

After I made that post I ended up reinstalling the software that came with the VB. I haven't changed any of the settings, but it seems to have fixed the problem. I'm now getting audio sync problems but that doesn't bother me so much as I've read workarounds for that..

Seems making a VCD is a real fine art.. it's not quite a case of pressing record and feeding the file thru Toast like I thought it would be!

    Regards
    Steve
