So I have potplayer configured to run fullscreen on a 16x9 display. When I play a video whose aspect ratio is incorrectly flagged (say a 16:9 video flagged or whatever so it displays as 4:3) I can use the Ctrl-F6 shortcut to change it to the proper one. The problem comes when I then exit potplayer and then later start potplayer with a different video... potplayer remembers the last aspect ratio I selected and applies it to the newly opened video which is likely incorrect (requiring more aspect ratio switching to get it to be correct... which will likely end up being the "source" setting). Is there anyway to get potplayer, on startup, to start playing the video with the "source" aspect ratio? I've tried (I think) every permutation of the configuration settings for aspect ratio but cannot achieve this behavior.

MPC-HC worked this way as well (retaining your last aspect ratio selected across invocations) and I had to resort to downloading the source and modifying it to get the desired behavior... I would like to use potplayer as it seems to be a bit better (on playback) but this behavior is real bothersome.

    Thanks

Thanks... Saw that... doesn't address the issue I'm having (I don't think)...

I want the player, when it starts playing a video (whether the video is the next in the playlist or the next time potplayer is started) to reset the aspect ratio to "Default (Source)" (the option strangely only available in the context menu).

Regardless of the settings I try (and I've tried every permutation I think) when you change the aspect ratio using CTRL-F6 (say to address a video whose aspect ratio is incorrectly flagged) that setting will be remembered for every subsequent video (unless of course you change it back to "Default (Source)" using CTRL-F6).

I missed the part where you manually changed the setting. Most players function that way. If you manually change a setting, it's applied to all files until you manually change it back/disable it.

I have Potplayer set to "Fit to Video", "Default (Display)" (rather than: Source), and "Keep Aspect Ratio". It seems to be more consistent that way. It should remember the last used Aspect setting you set. Also, rather than tapping Ctrl-F6 to step through the ratios (when the aspect ratio rarely needs to be overridden) I moved all aspect stuff onto a button rather than use the context menu, as it is easier to see the current setting and change it precisely rather than cycling. Look for tips on customizing the Skins to do this (quite easy).
