If you have a fast enough LAN adapter on your laptop and a wireless router, maybe. I would use at least a 'N' setup for wireless. The older 'G' routers may not be fast enough, although you could try it. You would also need a 'N' adapter on your laptop. On the TV end you would use another PC or something like a WDTV box with a wireless connection.
It's not as simple as just hooking up some sort of wireless transmitter and receiver. TV and computers use different types of video. If your TV has a USB or HDMI or some sort of digital input, that would help. What's the brand and model of your TV and your laptop?
Concerning conversion of the video, it still has to be a format the TV or the wireless box used for playback understands.
