I shot some footage AVCHD footage at PS 1080/50p (progressive) on a Panasonic AGAC90.
I want to convert to Apple Pro Res 422 for Final Cut Pro 7 at 50fps.
But when I pull the files into Final Cut I get this message below:
The following media files are not optimized for Final cut pro. it is highly recommended that you either recapture the media or use the media manager to creat new copies of the files to improve their performance for multi-stream playback.
Any ideas what is causing this?
Thank you.

Looks like you and Final Cut are in agreement. You both want the files converted to Pro Res.
Just do what it says. There doesn't really seem to be a problem here.
