EasyCap Weird lines issue

Hello, I've recently bought an easycap. However, I've noticed a strange wavy lines pattern which is especially apparent when I use S-Video:




Does anyone have an idea of what could be wrong or what can I do to fix this?

2. You do not state the model of easycap you have - did you pay more than $10 for this ?

But I will not comment on the lines more than the simple fact that most easycaps are rubbish/fake versions without proper driver support.

DB83 is correct when he says that many of the devices sold as an "EasyCap" are poor quality, but it looks like herringbone noise to me. The usual cause is radio frequency interference from a strong source, like the signal originating from a nearby TV station or radio station. A cable can act as an antenna and catch the signal, especially if coiled of looped. I also found some posts indicating herringbone noise can be caused by a bad S-Video connection. A bad connection could be the fault of the S-Video cable, the EasyCap, any converters you might be using, or the game console. Try re-seating all your connections and if that fails, try a different S-Video cable.

Or the computer or the source the EasyCap is plugged into. Or the Easycap itself if you have one of the cheap clones.

Looks like a bad s-video connection. I had that problem with a bad input connection, which I had to replace. If the connector is on one of your hardware devices, that might be difficult (in my case, it was on the output jack of a player. Took half a day to fix it). It could also be a bad pin on the cable itself. I had that problem, too. Remedy: replace the cable.
