I have a Linksys E3000. It was unplugged and not used for a few months. It was working fine before I stopped using it.
When I plugged it in again it wasn't working. Just a blinking power light. Researched it and supposedly it was the sign of corrupted firmware- a bricked router. Which is weird, because I haven't touched he firmware. And like I said it was working fine when I put it away.
To make a long story short, I found that after it was unplugged for a little while I would be able to connect to the router for 10 seconds. Max.
So I was eventually able to attempt to replace the firmware. I got the correct firmware from the linksys site. It failed at 92%. I thought "Great, now it's definitely bricked ". But I was able to connect again and upload the firmware to 100% this time.
But it changed nothing. I'm still having the exact same symptoms. I'm just hoping somebody has some suggestions. I'm guessing it's a hardware issue at this point. But I can't even open it to see if there is dust buildup. It has those stupid security screws.
I'm at wit's end. I've already had it on Ebay once and it didn't sell. It worked well when it worked. This is the second Linksys I have owned. They both just magically stopped working after being put in storage.
If anybody has suggestions, I would really appreciate any help I can get.

on the back of the router there is a reset button. with the power on hold the button in for a few minutes to reset the router. try this and see if that works.

Thanks for the reply.
The reset button only works right after it's plugged in. Once the light starts blinking, the reset button has no effect.
I have done the 30/30/30 hard reset more times than I can count. It has no effect on anything. I'm baffled at this point.
