  1. I did a direct stream copy in IFO mode in DVD Decrypter on a DVD in order to separate the audio track and remove an annoying hum. I ended up with four .m2v files, an ac3 file, and a .ifo file. I am having problems trying to figure out a way or find a program to recombine these files and make a workable DVD out of them once again. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Go under Options and choose File Splitting NONE so it will give you one, larger piece of video.

What about the chapters? Did you get them too? The usual procedure is to put the entire DVD onto the hard drive first (DVD Decrypter in File Mode). Then demux video, audio, chapters, subs (if any) with PGCDemux. Then do what you have to do with the audio and remux using Muxman. Unless you want to reintegrate the new 'fixed' DVD back into the original, getting back the menus and anything else it had, you're done. To get back the original menus and extras, open the original in VobBlanker and use the 'Replace' button to replace the original bad audio video with your new 'fixed' one.

  5. Something is not right and I can't figure what it is. As for chapters there are none in the original and I don't want to artificially insert any. However, when I run it through DVD Decrypter it is only giving me a video file that is about 57 minutes of the total 74 minute program.

I thought this would be fairly straightforward but it is starting to get really annoying.

  6. Is this a commercial or homemade?
Not sure what is going on as it appears from OP that you had already demuxed and worked on audio?

  7. It is a DVD-R produced by my church so it could definitely be considered homemade.

  8. DVD Decrypter should be able to copy using the instructions already given and copy to hard drive.

Check file size on dvd vs size of copied file size on hard drive.
    They should be similar.

Your computer or media player of choice may be reporting wrong amount of time play.

There are plenty of other ways to copy contents to hard drive if for some really weird reason dvd decrypter doesn't do the job.

  9. I decided to start all over again. When I run DVD Decrypter in File Mode (as opposed to IFO Mode) I get a Video_TS folder with the following items in it--

    VIDEO_TS.BUP
    VIDEO_TS.IFO
    VIDEO_TS_MENU_1.VOB
    VTS_01_0.BUP
    VTS_01_0.IFO
    VTS_01_1.VOB
    VTS_01_MENU_1.VOB

When I try to open either of the .ifo files with PGCDemux I just get an error message saying that they cannot be opened. Is there not a step by step guide anywhere on videohelp.com that shows how to do what I am wanting to do?

  10. After rerunning DVD Decrypter in IFO set to Direct Stream Copy I managed to open the .ifo file in PGCDemux but it only processes 57% of the file before telling me it is finished. I'm not getting an error message just half the file. Any suggestions?

Apparently this "57% finished ok" business isn't unheard of in PGCDemux--

  11. Ok, maybe something is misconfigured in dvd decrypter or something else....

Let's try this a simple way and see what your results are.
click start, computer and you will see your dvd drive.
Right click on it and click "copy".
Then navigate to a folder of your choice and right click then click "paste".

Then after it finishes copying the contents, open pgcdemux then select video and audio stream then click "process".

    This should work.

But I use dvdfab instead of using the copy and paste feature in Windows and select copy main movie and let that prog. rip contents to hard drive.

There are many different ways to go about what you are doing, dvd decrypter should work and it does a good job of doing it.

Is your video continuous or is there multiple titles on disc?

  12. Steve I appreciate your dogged determination in helping me. I went back and I think the issues are PGCDemux related and not DVD Decrypter. I say this because instead of using PGCDemux I used VobEdit instead, produced my files, then muxed them in Muxman, and replaced the one menu I had in VobBlanker and ..voila!...a finished Video_TS folder ready for the burning!

    Thanks again everyone!

  13. I don't know if this is the correct place...but...here goes.. I have Windows 8 which no longer has dvdmaker. I'm using winXdvd author to make dvd with a menu. ran into a problem: The move is 2:35 aspect and that choice is not in the IFO. the author program makes it 720x480 and the movie is 720x304.
Any ideas how to get around this? Does the IFO have no way to describe a 2:35?

    Thanks,
    Joe

    It's not.

Get around what? You made a 16:9 DVD with black bars above and below didn't you? It plays with the correct aspect ratio, doesn't it? There are only 2 DARs (Display Aspect Ratios) available for DVD and 2.35:1 isn't one of them. It looks to me as if you accidentally did it right. If not, please post a small 10-second sample of a finished VOB.
