Embed subtitles into mp4/mkv for PS3

Hi guys,

first of all, I'd like to say that really sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section.

Although my question might be familiar to you, I have not found any satisfying or definite answers yet.

I've tried dozens of programs to try to embed srt subtitles into mp4/mkv files to play them on my PS3 (without re encoding). However, none of them worked.

My question is: Is there any program which does that without re encoding the movie files to play them on the PS3?

Streaming is not an option? You can then use for example ps3 media server. It can embed subtitles directly when streaming.

Yes, streaming is an option, but oftentimes the video freezes or loses quality. That is why I'm looking for a definite solution.
