    I would like to convert this file to MP4 playable on PS3 with either softsubs or hardsubs (English).

    I have tried converting this with XviD4PSP and GOTSent but they do not support DTS Audio (I had already converted the subs to SRT format).

    Next, I tried extracting the different streams with MKVextractGUI and converting the DTS audio to AAC with foobar2000. All of this worked. Then, I tried to mux the .h264 file, .mp4 (audio) file, and .srt file with YAMB but the conversion didn't yield an output file no matter how many times I tried.

    Any suggestions?

    Did you try latest yamb beta also? And be sure that mp4box.exe in the yamb folder.

    And try also mp4muxer.

    Actually, I would like to hardcode the subtitles in the video.
    I have .ass subs with the font files and .srt subs.
    Is there any way I could hardcode them into the source .h264 file?

    Use xvid4psp. Set the audio to disabled if it can't convert the dts audio. And after mux the aac audio to the new mp4.

    How do I know that the subtitles will be hardcoded?

    You load the srt, subtitles->Add.

    I have tried that at least 5 different times and the subtitles are never hardcoded in the output file

    It works fine here.

    But then move to another application, like avidemux (click on it for a subtitle guide).

    AviDemux crashes whenever I try to encode h264 video with it.

    Yep, avidemux is buggy but don't give up. You have 1000 more free tools to try like AutoMKV, HDConvertToX, Format Factory, Super. Most are guis for ffmpeg or mencoder and should support subtitles.

    Or make a custom avisynth script with a subtitle filter(but it's what xvid4psp does...)

    (or well I would have give up a long time ago...)
