Hello everyone,so i have a problem with my subtitles.I have downloaded some Greek subtitles (because apparently i am Greek) and they are just being weird. What i mean is,they are unreadable. If i play a movie on my media player and manually drag n' drop the subtitle into the movie,it works perfectly,it seems to be just fine,it looks like this:

But the thing is i want to watch the movie on the Tv/xbox 360.In order to do that,i need to stick the subtitles to the movie permanently. So I decided to download a program named Any Video Converter. When i select the movie and the subtitles to merge them, after the process is complete,it looks like this:

Completely non-understandable,don't you think? But if i do the same thing with English subtitles and go through the same process,it seems to be just fine.So i came to the thought that it's a Greek-subtitle problem only. Can i get some help for this please?

  2. I'm guessing you're using SRT subtitles. That you're on a Windows system. That you're using ANSI coding for the SRT. Try using UTF-8.

  4. You need the SRT in UTF-8. Open it in Notepad. Select "Save As" and select UTF-8 in the bottom of thew window for Code.

This is an incredibly complicated subject. Basically the problem is that Any Video Converter does not understand the code page for your subtitles. videobruger's suggestion may solve your problem, but as I know nothing about Any Video Converter I cannot say for sure. Try it. If it doesn't work, then you will have to go into Control Panel -> Region and Language -> Administrative and change the setting for "Language for non-Unicode programs" to whatever code page your Greek subtitles are in. If you are lucky that will fix your problem.
