I have an older PII 330Mhz system that played DIVX movies pretty good, but after updating DirectX 7 to 8.1 the movie looses 1/3 of the frames during playback. Has anyone else seen this ? Also is there any way to remove directx 8.1 ( microsoft sais no)
I am using BSPlayer, but the MS Media Player also is running real slow.

I am running Windows 98. It would be great if I could undo this without a complete reinstall of the system.
Thanks in Advance, :P

<<all you got to do is got back on your registry>>
I don't know what you mean ? I am sure that when I installed Directx 8.1 it wrote over the old DirectX files, I will need to some way remove all directx8 stuff and replace it with the directX 7 files. Can this be done ?
