Convert Driver Install Disc to a USB Stick

Hello


I recently wiped my notebook with Wipe-Drive and i need to reinstall drive. I don't have a external dvd drive. Can i convert the contents of the driver installation disc that came with noteboook to a usb stick?

If so. How do i go about making a iso (which software to use) and adding to USB stick.

If you don't need a bootable disc you can just drag-and-drop all the files on the DVD to the USB stick. If you need a bootable disc:

This is for making a Windows iso for running off a USB stick.


I need to install driver before i can install Windows. I'm hoping i can make the same kind of stick to put driver onto notebook. This is a pic of my driver installation disc.

Surely, in that scenario, you can set the bios to read from the drive , put the disk in, re-boot and the bios runs the disk to install the drivers. You then re-boot but with the Windows disk in place.

There's no internal drive in the computer? And you say you have to install Windows from a disc? It seems some info is missing here. Most notebooks are supplied with a Windows reinstall partition on the hard drive. You're saying that the notebook came with a Windows install disc?

No optical drive in the notebook.

So how will the OP reinstall windows ?

not much info to go on here. unless it's a fairly new notebook it's not going to boot from a usb stick. you have to go into the bios and set it to boot from usb as first device.

what version of windows? what's the make/model of the notebook?

Agreed. It doesn't make much sense. Install "drivers" for what? The screen capture menu posted doesn't appear to have Windows on the program. It looks like a driver replacement disc, not a Windows system disc.

I wanted to put the contents of the system recovery disc on a USB stick if possible and try and boot the nootebook. The same way a external drive works.

You can't install drivers to an empty hard drive. Drivers are not installed to hard drives. The notebook hard drive must have an operating system installed on it before you can install drivers.

The image of a menu that you posted in post #3 is not a menu from a Windows system recovery disc.

What is the operating system you are trying to install? What is the make and model of your notebook?

It looks more like a Mainboard driver disk. And as I previously pointed you in the way to install that.
