Have any recommendations on the least expensive DV cameras for use in capturing from VHS tapes? Anything but Sony, I've had nothing but bad luck with Sony products.

The Canon ZR series has an analog input jack for dubbing old VHS tapes onto DV tapes. The ZR 10 is the cheapest model or ZR 20 or ZR 30 have more features.
I have dubbed Star Trek on to DV tapes and then made VCDs this way.
You can also get Hollywood DV bridge cards which go from analog to firewire and would probably be cheaper than a camera. Unless of course you wanted a camera anyways. -
It's not so much that I really wanted a camera, it's just rather than spending $300 on the Dazzle Bridge or the Canopus why not spend a little more & have a camera too.
