I would like to suggest a new forum feature in the form of a "Post Filter". This feature perhaps could be controlled from our individual profile where we can place individuals by their usernames on a sort of "ignore" list thus avoiding that usernames posts all together. When you view a thread that has an "ignored" person in it or written by them, their posts simply will not be shown, invisible or absent from the original thread or topic. Maybe this has been suggested before, I do not know. Perhaps the logistics of such a task is too difficult, again, I do not know.
I offer this suggestion as a way to keep individuals such as myself to continue using this forum (which has greatly helped me I wish to add). In my opinion, there has been a great influx of "crap" posts in all the forum topics. These posts, I have noticed, usually come from the same group of people and contain basically the same messages, all containing uselessness. "Check out MY website", "120 min on a VCD", "buy my tmpenc template" or "I'm going to kill you" are contained in the topics or threads that some individuals post. Sure, it's easy to say "well just don't read them" but when there's a topic that might contain valueable information it's difficult to sort the good from the "crap".
Since this site (VCDhelp.com) condones topics that contain outrageous claims, spamed websites and threats on peoples life, they (VCDhelp.com) should offer a way to block or filter such posts. I realize the VCDhelp has had some difficulties (server issues, etc...) lately and that a filter block might be a "task" to say the least. Just imagine, if you could block out peoples posts you would never have to read about my whining ever again!

I'm pretty sure that would be near impossible to do. I do have a good alternative though, instead of skipping the thread altogether, just skip the idiot's post. easy, eh? Alot easier than it would be to code what you have proposed.

you know its incredibly obvious to who were referring but to play devil's advocate--who would we laugh at and make fun of? Video encoding, capturing and editing is a stressful practice--the diversions provided by those people who offer alot of crap and seem to get away with murder are sometimes invaluable. If you disagree I'll front you~!~ I agree with the last post--just read along and filter mentally as you go and if you're in no particular hurry for information read "those" posts as well as the people who respond--its always good for a laugh!
Some have yet to realize that it is better to shut your mouth and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt -
Forget it - I argued that we do away with 'Off Topic' but it seems people want to come to vcdhelp.com and read posts about 'Do you have sex in front of your pets'
I figured when there was a serious bandwidth issue 'Off Topic' would be sure to go ... but I was wrong then also
it seems that those of us that come to vcdhelp.com just for VCD Help are in the minority ... to be honest thats why I'm here less and less ... too much crap to weed through ... so I help less people as a result
it's a shame reallyyour pal,

Well thanks to the bullies on this forum, my son has now been banned. Dont think you've heard the last word on this, if I wanted Seans attempts at success to be aborted in life, I would have taken care of this when he was born....... So long for now, but I warn you, my son will be back, bigger and badder than ever...... Anyways have to go as Seany is having a tantrum and throwing templates in the kitchen.
