How do I change the encoding on a video to the format supported by the player. I am using Freemake Video Converter.

You select it at the bottom like
to apple and choose presets like ipad,iphone
to mp4 and select mobile for most android mobiles
to avi and select tv quality for standalone dvd players
and I'm moving you to our video conversion section.
