It plays other MP4 files [AVC high@4.0] [CABAC / 2 Reference Frames] without any problem.
All these files play perfect on my PC.
For me it seemed the only difference is the number of Reference Frames, so it appeared that my player (a few years old) can not deal with a high frame number.
I managed to change AVC level from 5.1 to 4.0 using TSMUXER, my player loaded and played the resulting file but it was full with blocks and discolored so it was useless.
So now I need to change the Ref Frames from 16 to a lower number. I have googled for a solution but no luck.
I would appreciate any advice and comments
Thanks all

Thanks poisondeathray for your reply.
Looking through Google, I tried this script:
ffmpeg -i old.mp4 -c:v libx264 -profile:v baseline new.mp4
The input file was about 188 MB. It took about 6 minutes to produce the new file ( on a core i7), so I assumed some re encoding had been done. The output file was 335 MB, but it did work in my player with almost the same quality.
Now I have to deal with about 200 MP4 files, each with an average of around 1 GB.
So what are my best options to achieve that? a part from buying a brand new player which would accept 16 Ref Frames.
Is it possible to improve on this ffmpeg option or some other program to make faster?
Thanks again.
