    How do you convert a DV avi file to other files? I've been wondering this because this won't work on many players (at leaset mine). Any comments will be helpful (unless they are completely off topic and don't make any sense)

    You need an encoder lik tmpgenc. Look on the vcdhelper.com and click on How to CONVERT on the left of the main page
