  1. I converted my avi file to mpg using TMPGenc. It worked fine i could watch them and everything. Then i d/l the demo of nero and followed this websites instructions on burning the VCD. I dragged and dropped and did all that stuff. Also i used Memorex High capacity 80 min CD-R. So the program burnt it (on 4x)and it looked ok while i watched it copy. Then i plopped it into my DVD-Rom drive to check it out before i put it into my Toshiba standalone. Nothing happened!!! Then i went into MY COMPUTER and checked the cd. IT ONLY was 2.15 MB and the mpg was nowhere to be found it was only a bunch of folders. Ive wasted 4 cd's trying differnt speeds and everything. Cant figure it out. Please Help ME!!!!!!!!!

  6. If the VCD was burned correctly, the movie is in one of the folders. It should be in the MPGEGAV folder. Also it most likely doesn't have the movie icon unless you already associated dat files w/windows media player. If you have't associated the dat file w/windows right click on the dat file named something like "avseq" followed by some other stuff. Then choose "open with" >> windows media player. Also the movie won't autoplay in your CDrom or DVDrom unless you specifically author it to do so by adding some files for that function(at least as far as I know).

  7. i agree with gambit32 your looking for mpegs while the movie files inside a VCD are where changed to *.dat files within the mpgegav folder
jus try opening the files with windows media player.

and about your stand alone dvd player not beable to play the burnt vcd. well thats another issue man some dvd players cant play burned vcd's because i think cause they are burned not stamped like commerical DVD's but maybe a switch to a higher quality CD-R might fix the problem Might...

  10. Hi , I'm haveing the same exact problem he has, it only has like 200mb on it also, same as he had said. How can that be write, I tried twice, with diff programs for ripping, and spliting. same encoder he used. And used reg. nero to burn both vcd. And my Samsung dvd says no disc found. I didnt us any special program to have it found on a standalone, didnt know you needed it. Can anyone help us.

If anyone would be willing to work directly with me i would appreciate it. I want this to work so bad. lol

The second time i uses the newbie guide in here to the T and same thing happened.
