I made a photo CD in VCD format using a bunch of JPGs and Nero and I would like to know if there is anyway I can rip the pictures back onto my hard drive.

You've confused me. Did you embed the photos into a video stream? If so, then load your VCD into a software DVD player that will allow you to do a SCREEN CAPTURE (I use Power DVD 4.0) and capture your photos one by one.
Otherwise, look at the VCD disk and see if you can find the .JPGs on the disk. If so, then simply copy them back to your HD (no need to "rip"). -
No, its not a slide show. I just dragged the jpg over in Nero as if they where MPEGs. They Don't rotate or anything. it kind of like just one really long menu.
