Hey all! I hope this is in the right place. Basically, I'm going to be traveling across the US conducting interviews, filming scenery, etc. I need suggestions on a great HD camera that's not crazy expensive. Price range 300-900. Once I finish I then want to make short videos of what happened in each state. I can get a new laptop as this is a funded project, but I was wondering what a good software for this is? And if I need a certain requirement from my laptop? I also want to burn some longer length DVD's of the trip. Thanks for any info! It's much appreciated!

Please try include some of your question in the thread title. I changed it for you this time. You can also update it by click edit and go advanced.
No, I can't help you as the last camera I used was a VCR camcorder.... -
Hello,
I will let other more experienced camera enthusiasts recommend cameras, but will say that you may want to consider using a mic other than the onboard camera mic, especially if you will be conducting interviews. Of course, that depends on what your budget is and also what camera you purchase.
