    but it is over 10 years old, even if the hack doesn't work, you should be happy the unit still works at all.

    Reasons that the hack no longer works include...
    Your model had a hardware/firmware change in production and this broke the hack. This can happen later in production.

    The instructions are incomplete and there's a critical step they left out that you need or the hack will never work. This is unusual, but it has happened.

    You applied a firmware update that came out after the hack information was released and this firmware update broke the hack. You would need to downgrade to a lower revision of firmware if this is your problem, but that is not always possible. Some players do not allow downgrades.

    The hack does work, but it only works on models sold in other parts of the world and not on yours.

    I agree with minidv2dvd that it's almost miraculous that a player this old still works.

  4. Yes i tried looking it up & i have tried the code but it does not work on my XV-HTD520...i have never updated the firmware, i don't know how to do that...
