I recently purchased, by mistake I might add, a Pioneer DV-410V-K DVD Player which plays only NTSC and is region 1. I would like to be able to play PAL and other regions.
I am not a tekkie and if possible would super appeciate easy instruction to do the above (re-program to region free)!

Perhaps you will be lucky and Noahtuck's links will do the job, but you should also be prepared for it not to work. Manufacturers sometimes make hardware and/or firmware changes that will break hacks that used to work. Also, some machines have slightly different hardware in different parts of the world. We've had reports on some DVD players that can be hacked in Australia but the same model sold in North America cannot be hacked. Again, you may get lucky, but the point you need to take away from this is that some DVD players can't be made region free - ever.
