I live in an apartment where a roof antenna brings TV signals to our suite through the wall plug-in for cable. I simply use a coax cable directly from the outlet to my TV.
My question is: What do I need to be able to record incoming signals the way one does on their PVR if they subscribe to cable? I would like to not have to use my computer in the process.

If it's really over-the-air TV you can use any product with an ATSC tuner. For example:

OP said he does NOT want to use a computer. There a few atsc drv boxes out there, do a google search. One of them is The Channel Master TV CM-7400.

What he said was:
That doesn't mean that he won't under any circumstances use a computer, just that it's last on his preference list. He can use jagabo's suggestion as a backup if he doesn't like yours, but certainly your suggestion is more in line with his preferences. -
I am thinking of buying a Magnavox MDR-513H/F7 320GB DVR and DVD Recorder. Available online at Wal-Mart for $230. Any opinions on this?
