    Hey Guys,

When I had XP, I used to do lots of analog capturing with VirtualDub, using HuffYUV as a codec for the raw capturing. Then I used TMPGEnc to edit and re-encode the Videos. It was a combination that worked perfectly for me.

After upgrading to Windows 7 Home Premium one year ago, I never really found out how to capture analog video material without any quality-loss at all, except the loss because of the analog connection :P

Could one of you tell me:

    - Can I still use VirtualDub with my 64 Bit Win7?
    - Which Codecs would you advice me for first losless encoding? HuffYUV is not supported with the 64 Bit System. Any alternatives? I would
like to edit the avi later with Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.

I use a simple, but think still fine Video-USB-Card for S-Video, connecting my Blautpunkt RTV-950:

    Thank You!

There is a 64-bit version of VirtualDub as well as Avisynth. But most plugins don't have 64-bit versions, so use 32-bit all-the-way even in Win7 64-bit. 32-bit will still work. Can't say whether your capture device will work or not.

Thank You! My Device works with that, I have tested it already...but I had big problems with the codec XVid, regarding frame-rate and audio-synchronization.

Any suggestions for a losless codec, with which i can work with adobe premiere afterwards?

By the way: Why isn't it possible with Premiere Pro to capture analog material? Stunning...

Xvid is too slow for real-time capture. It's not lossless either.

Thank You! It worked...I installed the codec with that commando.

But when trying capturing, i had many dropped frames and synchro-problems with audio... :/ could it be that the device does not work in that constellation?

with Vista/Win7, the problem could be anywhere. There are two general 'sticky' posts in the capture forum which yoiu might browse for clues:

Thanks, I already read those threads, but could not find, what is wrong...to me all things mentioned there appear correctly set.

Maybe someone could help me, if i uploaded a short video-file?

I'm surprised Windows 7 users haven't chimed in here. But I do see many complaints using that device in Windows 7, even with its own software. A short sample might give some clue as to what's going on.
