  1. I`m trying to convert a friends episode by using the TMPGH software but get the message file is unsupported,I have divx codec installed.....

  2. Use a program called Virtualdub (see the convert section or capture section to find it - its free). Convert the Divx to another decent type of AVI with a good codec (download Huffyuv codec for lossless conversion). Then TMPGenc will eat it up.

  3. In TMPGenc option...environmental setting...vfapi plug-in...

    Increase the priority if the Direct Show Multimedia File Reader until it is not a negative value (it's probably at -1 right now). Right click on it and choose "higher priority" until it is up to 0 (in the right column), then try and open your divx avi.

  4. thanks for the TMPGenc tip.....however all I got now was just sound,no picture??
    I`m using divx5 with XP.

  5. I'm betting that TMPGenc's problem is with the sound, not the video...

    Jeez, I give this advice often...

    Anyway, open the .avi in VirtualDub, and save its audio as a .wav. Then, when you use TMPGenc, select the .avi as the video source and the .wav as the audio source.
