    Hi

I HAVE A LOT OF QUESTIONS SO APOLOGIES IN ADVANCE AS IM A LITTLE SIMPLE WHEN IT COMES TO BLURAY RECORDING

I have about 15 DVD which i made about 6 years ago when i had a dvd player and a normal crt tv

The Dvds that i made are both dvd5 and dvd9 and they have 1 menu with wedding 1 (you click that picture) wedding 2 (you move to that picture) and click play i have about 4 clips to 6 clips depending on dvd size

    Fast forward to 2012

I now have a lcd tv and a bluray player (plays mp4 and mkv) and so to all my friends family have bluray and lcd

I brought a bluray sata internal writer for my pc

I just hate the fact that i need to keep switching dvds and would love to burn the lot or most to 25gb bluray disc

And i would love to convert the dvd vob files to mp4....... But need help on a few issues

I know there are lots of programs avaiable to convert but what is the easiest for newbies and i need some advice on the following

Can i have the clips on the dvd as individual mp4 files.... For example on on my dvd i have a menu with 4 wedding clips, can these be converted to 4 mp4 clips or will i just have 1 mp4 with all four wedding clips together

Do mp4 files use the same amount of space for example if i have a dvd with 4.5gb of 720 x 576 pal weddings....... Will the mp4 file be 4.5gb in size or 8.5 gb (dvd9)

All the weddings are 4:3 so i have big borders on the side can i convert the the wedding to 16:10 true widescreen would this be done after converting vob to mp4 or during converting vob to mp4

How many hours of 720 x 576 MP4 can you fit onto 25gb bluray and what the ultimate bit settings for video and audio for vob to mp4

Are 25gb bluray more reliable than 50gb ones im going to use verbatim ones

Thanks for reading and hope ppl can help

  2. Your DVD files can be used for Blu-Ray without reencoding. You just need to author them for Blu-Ray, and redo the menus.

And you can use multiavchd to reauthor dvds to blu-ray. Or the software mentioned in https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/349702-Blu-Ray-menu-creation
