I am looking for someone from UK (outside UK cannot download) a BBC prom (audio only) and then upload to some place and private message me the link. I don't care which prom, just one from this year.

Have you tried usenet? Seems to be the repository for all things.

You know, if you'd actually TRY to do something on your own instead of constantly playing the "Help me! I'm a moron!" card you might actually learn something, jimdagys. Just do a Bit Torrent search. I live in the USA and 2 years ago I wanted to see a specific Prom so I did a search and found a video of it on Bit Torrent. And as mai2tom correctly pointed out, there's a pretty good chance Usenet has this too, but you'll probably have to pay a commercial Usenet provider for access.

What puzzles me is why 'any' prom. After all one person's Mozart is another person's Mussorgsky.
FYI I have the tv recording of the Walllace and Gromit prom. But that is not what you want is it ? -
I don't want to pay a "usenet" fee. The person from Scotland who wrote doesn't realize that outside UK cannot download the proms from the BBC website. I suppose I could try "torrent", but then I would be faced with a huge selection from many years. I just want something from this year, not particular, and just want the audio.

Look as if you are too late.
No 2012 Proms are listed on the BBC i-player. -
download from bbc website dont think they do that maybe a pod cast is what you mean i thought you only wanted to record the audio and that should be easy if can access and bcc radio or iplayer are you saying that bbc dont allow access to there radio player or iplayer or there prawns web site windows 98 used to have record function on there sound card drivers but think its now been taken out of all windows platforms was handy wee tool to.

That image showing "usenet" looks quite interesting.
On a side note, I am not very familiar with "usenet". It appears that you must pay to use it, unless you sign up for a trial period, then, you must still enter billing details, something I am not willing to do. Is there a trial period "usenet" where you don't have to enter billing details? I'm guessing that there is not such a thing. -
Usenet is free. But most ISP's no longer carry it so you may have to pay a usenet provider. There are a few pay usenet providers that will allow you to download a GB or so for free. Of give you a low bandwidth connection for free. You'll also need a usenet client capable of binary downloads.

I told you what to do. But it's far better to act like an idiot and ignore me than to solve your own problem yourself. I found AT LEAST FOUR different torrents from this year's Proms on a first search without even trying to see if there are more.
Usenet is free, but...
The part of Usenet where download stuff that, ahem, may or may not be legal is NOT free. You have to pay a provider who carries all of Usenet. You need the alt.* groups to get stuff like the Proms. I have a provider who I like but I'm not going to recommend them because jimdagys can stop being an idiot and get the files himself with a few minutes of work on Bit Torrent. None of the free providers carry any alt.* groups or they don't carry the ones that have any music or video files in them. -
It has been many years(> 10) since I used Usenet or 'Newsgroups' to give it another name.
ISP's stopped carrying it when it got rather bandwidth heavy, Even then they only carried a small fraction of the groups available. To get the rest you had to resort to a bespoke service provider - N******y was a good one back then. I do not know if they are still around as forums and file-lockers such as Rapidshare became popular and even the bespoke providers only kept files alive for a certain number of days.
And the likelyhood is that any binary - audio and video - file, as has been said, is copyrighted. -
http://usenetstorm.com/ is free if the file is under 500MB. find a nzb of the prom you want and enter it there, and then click the download link.

Thanks for the info on usenet. I know about torrent and have been using it for years. It is a near 1 click operation and it is free. However, upon hearing about this usenet thing, I want to try and use that. The above comment looks promising.
