Anyone know of a nice piece of software that will allow me to compare NEAR duplicate AVI movies? I'm basically looking for a way to automate comparisons of gspot information.
I have a huge collection and I'm trying to figure out a way to automatically or semi-automatically (prompted comparisons) to get rid of the near duplicates (keeping the best one). Normally, I have to just compare the properties of each in gspot and normally it is a pretty clear cut decision. The only other way I can do it would be to just compare properties in columns form in directory opus.

I would never rely on GSpot to determine which files are better. Use GSpot to analyze the files in this post:

Then look at them and decide which is better. -
99% of all my collection comes from DVD sources. I more use gspot for Length, Frame Rate, Width&Height, Bitrate & Audio Channels. Rarely do i require anything beyond those to decide. The question is if there is an automatic/semi-automatic way to compare two video files based on these.
