  1. hello wonder if anyone could help me

i have a LG mw237 wd never used the hdmi ports as i connect my 360 via component

recently bought a sony home theatre but hdmi never seemed to work so sent it back thinking it was the system

Got a Lg bh4120s and it works fine via s video

but when connecting to hdmi it only shows the box in the right hand corner displaying 480p 60hz

the only time i will get a image is when i first start up the BD player and it literally flashes up for 2 secs and then disappears

i can hear audio just no video please help

    thank you

You may have to see if there is some way to reset the player to factory specs. Outputting 1080p 60Hz seems really odd for someone in the UK so it may be that the player is not set up correctly. It may be that your LG TV does not accept this for video input. If you connect it to your LG TV via something other than HDMI you may be able to go into the setup menu and change the output. I can't find any info on your TV based on the model you gave, but assuming you really bought it in Europe I would think that 1080p 50Hz output is what you want on the BluRay player.

thanks for the quick response iv reset the settings on the monitor with no avail

i bought the monitor of ebuyer about 09/10

i accesed the Blu ray menu by using the yellow video cable was able to change to auto detect but when i change to hdmi channel blank screen but still has the 1080p 50hz in the box

im confused because if im on the hdmi channel and start up the player i can see the LG welcome screen but as it switching to the menu it goes blank and i have to go back to the video channel to access menu>>>

Are you using the right hdmi cable? there are different versions of hdmi and i have seen this type of problem before due to a lower hdmi version cable.
You need at least hdmi version 1.3a or higher for 1080P output ( if i'm not misstaken)
If you have a 3D player you need a version 1.4 cable

Google can't find any relevant links but this thread when I search for " LG mw237". LG's UK website doesn't list it either. Are you certain that model number is correct?

Searching for "LG mw237 wd" turned up nothing but your thread here at Video Help and nothing at LG's UK website again.

However searching for "LG m237wd" found a 23-inch LCD computer monitor/TV.

If that is what you have, check to see if your BD player is configured to send 480i or 576i over HDMI. If so, your monitor won't display it. According to the manual, it will only display 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p signals when using HDMI.
