  1. Hey guys,

I was wondering if any of you know any video editing software or plugin which can make few frames out of focus!

Look at this video and you will understand better what I am talking about

I know a plugin called PHYX Defocus for Final Cut Pro which does this but its 50 USD. I was looking for something cheaper or preferably for free.

I would really appreciate if you can help me to find a solution.

    Thanks a lot.

Just about any of them can do it. But that "effect" gets old fast. In fact, the whole video gets old fast.

You're saying FCP doesn't have a defocus or blur tool? That's not possible. So you really want to know how to construct the blur?

You'll need to animate it via keyframes, frame-by-frame. And I would vary the effect. Like a slow blur followed by a fast focus, and reverse it, and do it different ways and timings.

Also, when you do still sequence FX, like stop motion, there should be some kind of "slow decay" visible.

  3. Yes, just about every editor comes with blur filters.
