I asked this question some time ago, but still don't have an answer. If I have a 2 hour DVD or mpeg2, I want to be able to choose a few minutes here and there, (maybe a dozen "here and there's") and then splice all the pieces together (maybe about 15 minutes total). I would like to be able to make all these cuts in one pass, not make each cut, save the file, make another cut, save the file, etc.
I'm looking for a low cost, easy to use software that can do this type of cutting.

mpgvcr from womble http://www.womble.com can edit mpg2 files, cost 15 euro.
only pitfall: it has trouble with mpg's that contain ac3 audio tracks. -

Well i have had some trouble with a mpg file with ac3 audio. after editing the audio wasn't synchronized with the video anymore.
But maybe i did something wrong.
According to their help pages http://womble.com/support/help.vcr/chap00-1.html there is no support for ac3 audio.Last edited by jan5678; 11th Dec 2011 at 11:52.
