    I just bought a Panasonic Hs900 for the purpose of recording myself sitting playing guitar, but I have some problems;
    Firstly I can't capture my whole body sitting down without moving the camcorder too far away.
    Secondly the mic is picking up lots of ambient audio, I'd like it to record just what's in front of it.
    I have a Zoom H2 field recorder and was wondering if I could use it as an external mic as it's directional is this possible? and is there an alternative solution?

    Thanks in advance!

    not much you can do about the widescreen video. create an attractive stage on both sides of you zoom in to your head and guitar are top and bottom, and if you can get a second cam and a videographer to do closeups. then multicam edit the 2 videos into a nice presentation. using the zoom mic is fine you'll just need to sync up the audio during editing and then delete the cam audio.
