Hello everyone, I'm brand new here and desperately need some help. I am filming a training video using a borrowed Sony HandyCam DCR-SR42, and thought I could get better sound through the ECM-HW1 wireless Mic via the Active interface Shoe. As you might already know, this model doesn't HAVE the AIS. Which was an unpleasant surprise
My mission is to figure out how to get better sound for my video without using a different camera. I don't have the budget to rent one, and I don't have the time to find a different one to borrow. Can you help?
Thanks for any help!

not much help to be had. that cam seems to not have a mic in connector nor a manual audio level available. you can either buy a sony external mic that has ais and hope for a little better audio or deal with what it gives you.
