My .wmv file has fixed audio out-of-synch issue. I tried coverting the file to WMV, FLV and MP4 via Freemake, but it didn't change the synch issue. I believe if I could delay the audio somehow, by about 1 second, it may be more-synched with the video. I have Windows MovieMaker, just downloaded Freemake and Windows Media Encoder (v9). Can you direct me as to if one of these could accomplish a synch fix or audio delay? And how, please? Or is there a better (and possibly easier) software program to accomplish this?
    Thanks

I started a new thread because I'm asking a different question. The other asked how I can fix in MovieMaker. This one is asking for the best (easiest) alternatives.

find out the exact value of delay by playing file in a media player. Most will allow you to shift the audio +/- by hitting the +/- keys. When it's in sync write down the value. Eg.. it might be 890ms or something

    In asfbin
    1) select the video (highlight it)
    2) push the arrow key to load it into the input files list
    3) enter the delay in milliseconds value . If it's the opposite direction enter a negative value
    4) select destination directory and filename
    5) push cut/copy/join

There is no re-encoding, no quality loss - but it will output an .asf file. You can safely rename extension to .wmv or leave it as .asf

Thanks so much for that informative reply. Much appreciated.
I have Real Player and Windows Media Player on my desktop, but, after looking around both, I don't see any +/- keys.
Can you suggest a player, or direct me to where they are on these players?
    Thanks again.

  5. vlc, smplayer, kmplayer, ... they all should have some audio sync feature but the keys might be different

e.g. in vlc , tools=> track synchronization=> a popup window will appear and you can adjust the audio

in smplayer its +/- , but they are 100ms increments, but you can fine tune by right click => audio => set delay

for some players you can map a hotkey

    not sure about wmp
