I have two home video discs (DVD-R) in Nero Digital format that plays only on Nero showcase. I would like to play them on domestic video players. How can I convert them? I tried DVd Shrink but it does not read them.
Any help will be most welcome as these discs are precious to me.

There is Nero Digital Format and Nero Digital Format AVC. Nero Digital Format is basically Divx/Xvid compatible so I would guess that any conversion program capable of converting Divx/Xvid to DVD can convert Nero Digital Format as well. Nero Digital Format AVC has H.264 video and probably AAC audio so any tool capable of converting those in MKV to DVD would likely work.
I don't convert stuff to DVD format so I'll leave it to others to suggest tools. ConvertXtoDVD isn't free but a lot of people like it and it might be able to do the job. I think there is a demo version available. -

Thanks to all three responses.
I hve tried them all but they do not recognise the file on the discs. I have tried few other softawr as well with no success.
The discs were burned by Nero StartSmart to Nero Digital Audio DVD.
Is there any other thoughts by anyone else?
Kerry56: What do you mean by Nero full version? Please expand.

Nero comes in several different configurations. They used to call it Nero Burning Suite 6 or Nero Burning Suite 7, etc, but now they seem to call the top level version of the software Nero Platinum 11. This should contain all of the burning, transcoding, playback and other tools that Nero offers. Nero Recode should be able to recognize the Nero digital format and convert to the mpeg2 you need for dvd-video.
I don't know which version of Nero you have, but it may have Nero Recode in it. -
@Laz Baz, I work at Nero and saw your question. The latest versions of Nero Video and Nero Recode can both convert Nero Digital files to DVD. We'd need to know a little more about what version of our software you used to create your videos originally and then we can give you more specific help on how to do this. Please either email our Tech Support team (Techsupport@nero.com) or visit our online knowledge base (http://www.nero.com/enu/support.html) so we can help.
Best,
Paul

Take it up with Nero. Most of our experienced users have a pretty poor opinion of Nero and we certainly don't use it to create Nero Digital Video format video if we use it at all. You're going to have to get help from Nero itself here. Maybe there are restrictions on the trial version you tried.

Hi Laz Baz,
Please copy the video file from your DVD to your local hard disk and proceed with the steps as descriped in this manual up from page 31:
ftp://ftp6.nero.com/user_guides/nero6/visionexpress/NeroVisionExpress_Eng.pdf
Please try with your Nero 6 full product as the Nero 11 trial has some trial limitations due to patent license restrictions.

Hi Oli,
Thanks for the advice but I can not go past the very first step.
1. When I open the DVD (DVD RW Drive: right click and open or explore on Vista and windows Xp), there is no file shown, hence I can not transfer anything. I am able to play it on Nero ShowTime (approx 19 minutes of DVD).
Please advise further.
Kind Regards

Laz baz - That is troubling that you cannot see anything on the discs. Let's rule out a UDF problem so install UDFreader (it's free) on your XP box and see if it can see anything on the disc after you do that. You should not need to install this program on Vista and I'm not real optimistic it will fix the problem of not seeing the files but it hurts nothing to try. If it works then you can try installing it under Vista too but I've heard that Vista is supposed to have up to date UDF drivers, which is why I said that you're not supposed to need to install this on Vista. XP definitely does not have up to date UDF drivers and if I remember correctly UDF versions from 2.01 and above are invisible to XP boxes until you install UDFreader.
I still think you need to contact Nero directly as trying to solve this by exchanging messages with Nero support in our forums is not a great way to go. -
Hi Laz Baz,
jman98 's suggestions are great. You can also try Nero's on free tool Nero InCD reader 5 from
http://www.nero.com/enu/downloads-free-tools.php
If the problem still persists I also recommend you to get in touch with support@nero.com. I checked with them already and they are looking forward to support you.
Best regards,
Oli
