hey there. I've got a snag, but I'm not sure if it's my fault or if it's normal behavior.
I can rip with SmartRipper and with CladMdec. I get big healthy *.vob files, i think. i can even re-name them to mpeg and get them to play, but i get no sound. I also can't preview with sound in DVD2AVI, and it won't let me select the "process WAV" menu option. However, when I save the AVI, it does indeed output a sound file. Is there a problem with the way I'm handling the files, or is this how it's supposed to work?

Yup, you shouldn't be renaming the VOB files for starters, what i suggest you do is follow the Classical Newbie Guide, and make sure you follow the steps: http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdtovcd.htm
