I really like TMPGEnc, but I always end up using it past the 30 day limit. I try to reinstall it, but the set date that it stops working is still there. Is there a way I can get around this? If there were a full version, I would pay for it. I really just like using this program and I want to prolong it's usage. I have heard that you could change the date or something when installing the program so that it wouldn't expire until that day ie "July 29th 2099", but when I do it, it doesn't work.Anyone know of any ways?

there is a post showing you how to hack the registry to extend this "30 day" limitation.
I tried it, but it didn't work for me so I did the next best thing: getting the beta12 or beta12a version. The beta12 and 12a do not have time limitation on MPEG2 encoding. -

it is, but that function has a time limit for some reason.
Tuan, do you know where this post is? is it fairly new or old? can I search for it in these forums? -

Several weeks ago, a message was posted that also offered a way to reset the date without messing with the Registry. It was a tiny program to execute when the date needed reset. It was available from xiaodu@hongkong.com. Send him an EMail and ask for the TMPGEnc Mpeg2 date resetter.

The 30 day limit can be reset by deleting the following registry key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{63902277-B101-4049-8B46-C24B67E155E5}
How to do this very easy:
Make a file "TMPGEnc_MPEG2_Reset.reg" with the following content:
REGEDIT4
; Enables TMPGEnc's MPEG-2 encoder for 30 more days.
[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{63902277-B101-4049-8B46-C24B67E155E5}]
Double click this file to reset the 30 day limit. -
Don't get the latest version, go for 12 beta (no letters), it's just as fast and just as good and no 30 day cut-off.
Sorry I can't remember the download link (it was some spanish site). I found it through a google search.
