    Hello there!

I was wondering which would be the best format to store TV series in. AVI, MP4 or M4V? I really don't want to use MKV.

Also, which converter to use? I use Handbrake right now. And I just went through XviD4PSP but the x264 options there confused me. So help with that would be nice too!

    Thanks!

What are you going to play it on?
What is your video source? Just tv series doesn't say much.

But I would use mp4 with h264 video and aac audio. If you would like very good h264 converter with goog video h264 profiles you can use megui but it's not as user friendly as handbrake then.

I will be watching it on my laptop mostly.

I use Handbrake even now, H.264 and AAC.

But what about XviD4PSP? And wouldn't AVI be better?

  4. AVI would only be better if you plan to play it on some hardware devices that only accept AVI....
But if what you play can play H.264 and AAC without any lags or errors... I suggest you stick to it..
It makes smaller files than AVis at similar bitrates...

I like XviD4PSP, and I use it to convert my DVDs to Mp4 (H.264 / AAC)
My fave option is to use CQ=21 preset... 1-pass

@teodz1984 : That's the very question I have about XviD4PSP! What video encoding option to use? There's a whole lot many x264 options. What's the difference?!

    Handbrake shows only one!

Speed and quality. And different complexities for different devices.
