  1. I have a chipped panasonic DVD player with macrovision removed/region free. It will allow me to record to VHS original DVDs and some d/loaded VCDs.
I have a problem in putting onto VHS some newer VCDs. They copy ok but have what can be best described as flickering horizontal lines across the screen.
Any ideas what causes this and if possible any solutions.

  2. Maxiesmudge, I assume that you are talking about VCD's that you Purchased, If the screen is jumbled up, and not any picture is distinguishable, try watching it without recording, my bet is that you have
a clear image then, right? More then likely, its a Copyright protection.
Now, i am new to VCD's, and i am even suprised that there are chips... anyway, i just wanted to make a note, and tell you that its a copyright protection, and i don't know if there is anyway to disable this, good luck, and hope you get it fixed. (note, this also happens when you try to record from a dvd that you have purchased)

  3. The problem is with VCDs I have downloaded and converted. I believe the prob is to do with PAL/PAL60?NTSC. I can change the output to NTSC but still the problem persists.

Original dvds can be put onto video perfectly. The chip removes macrovision/makes the dvd region free/allows mp3s to be played.
