Which wall to project on?

My living room is 17' by 12'. Should I project onto the long wall or the short wall? Not sure where to put this question, so popped it in here

Depends on the projector and the image size you desire. Your projector manual should give you some diagrams and info on projected size. Or you can try a site like Projector Central and use their calculator. http://www.projectorcentral.com/projection-calculator-pro.cfm My projector is about 21' from my screen and the screen is about 10' diagonally. You also have to take into account your seating distance from the screen. Also where you plan to mount your projector. I mounted on the wall as I have a ceiling fan and a chandelier blocking a ceiling mount position.
