    I have some DVDs I want to put on my NAS for DLNA as MKVs (or some other single file) but without changing the video (i.e. leaving it as MPEG-2) to try and maintain video quality as quite a few aren't available on blu-ray.
    Any suggestions?

    makemkv. or make mpgs with vob2mpg.
