I like to watch movies subtitled FAST.
I used to increase speed time of subtitled movies x2, x3, then i got used to x4.
I use VLC PLAYER.
Some years ago, i had a DUAL CORE and a GEFORCE 8400.
I was limited to x4 in VLC PLAYER (the only i know that dont ruin sound when accelerated)
Then i got an i5, a GTX 460, and i am STILL limited to x4...
I have lots of parts of movies i want to increase to x8.
What options shall i use and how to make it possible?
I use a separated disk for movies, so nothing can interfere with i/o speed + gamebooster + av disabled to watch.
Please, only answer someone that KNOWS AND DID 8x with sucess.
i did read this thread i found and people wrote a dozen of BLABLABLA without having an answer. https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/345814-Play-a-video-at-8x-with-sound

I'm able to play SD videos with subtitles at 8x with VLC. Even 960x720 AVC/MKV. Using the techniques outlined in the thread you linked to I was able to play SD videos at 32x on my i5 2500K. And SMPlayer, which was recommended in that thread worked at 8x.
